Artist in Conversation: Wang Keping: As part of Asian Art in London 2016

On 6th November 2016 at 18.30, Aktis Gallery will be holding an Artist in Conversation event with Wang Keping, moderated by Dr. Katie Hill. Dr. Katie Hill is Program Director, MA Modern and Contemporary Asian Art at Sotheby's Institute. Dr. Katie Hill is a regularly invited speaker for exhibitions and events in numerous institutions and galleries. Her recent work includes In Conversation with Ai Weiwei, Tate Modern, selector panel/author, Art of Change, New Directions from China, Hayward Gallery, London, and specialist advisor/author for The Chinese Art Book (Phaidon 2013). 

 

Aktis Gallery proudly presents an exhibition of Zao Wou-Ki (1920-2013) and Wang Keping (b.1949) for Asian Art in London 2016. The exhibition 'CHINA BLACK' is dedicated to two of the most influential Chinese émigré artists of the 20th century.

 

Aktis gallery will showcase a selection of 10 Chinese ink paintings by the renowned Zao Wou-Ki, the greatest Chinese artist of the lyrical abstraction movement. The works range from 1950 through to the year 2000, providing a fascinating insight into the span of Zao's artistic practice. They will be exhibited alongside a group of 16 sculptures by the exceptional contemporary sculptor Wang Keping.
